Hello! I’m Dylan, and if you’ve found this site, that means you probably know me, To keep it brief, this is my own personal website, where I just write things about myself. I have a wide range of interests and hobbies, so you’re sure to find a page on something that may catch your interest! Please note that this site is still WIP, so make sure to check back in every once in a while to see updates!
Navigation
This site is built using Quartz, meaning the way to navigate the site is like navigating through a computer. There are directories on the side bar corresponding to the overarching topic, and you can go to any of the pages listed under there (or further directories).
About Me
As I said already (and you probably already know this), but I’m Dylan. Online, I go by various usernames, though most of them fall under archervie, a5v, archerv, archlvi, or some other derivative of those.
Interests
My main interests lies in STEM, most particularly in the realm of computer science and mathematics. As of writing this (1 February 2026), I am in my final semester of my Computer Science BS program! That said, most of the STEM topics I talk about will fall under those categories, though I do also hold a big interest in other STEM and non-STEM fields such as physics, engineering, psychology, anatomy, literature, philosophy, and more. It’s best to describe me as somewhat of a polymath.
On the computer science side of things, I am highly focused on cybersecurity with a keen interest on figuring out how things work, both high level and low level. I am deeply passionate about the intersection of the various subfields in both software development and IT; from Python development to networking protocols to computer architecture.
Outside computer science, I am also deeply curious with mathematics as a whole. Having self-taught both Calculus I & II in high-school, I’ve grown an interest in the field of pure math, and through my undergrad program, have discovered an interest in number theory. As of now, I am focusing on my career, though I do plan to eventually comb my way through abstract algebra and number theory as a means of eventually learning the mathematics behind modern cryptography. Through my hobbies, I also found myself drawn to systems as a whole, and I plan to learn category theory at some point, though I’m unsure as to when. I also have love higher-dimension geometry, and find polychorons in particular to be really cool. Within that same realm, I also am pretty interested in googology and plan to construct a mathematically viable “large” number to compete with the likes of TREE(3) and Rayo’s Number. As per the other STEM fields, those are just some rather brief interests.
Outside STEM, I am also pretty interested in the humanities. I am a huge enjoyer of stories; I fundamentally believe that the power of a story is immense. I am particularly a big fan of Japanese media; animanga, LNs, and VNs. If you know me, I am a very big fan of the Science Adventure series (Chaos;Child and Steins;Gate especially), which I believe encapsulate my main interests in terms of literature genres: psychological thrillers, sci-fi, or character/plot-driven stories. I am also a pretty big fan of philosophy, as you may see in one of my pages. I also like to write, from poetry to short stories, to hopefully publishing an actual full-fledged science fantasy web novel called Doomachia (name still in progress), which holds a massive emphasis and focus on the human psyche, mental illness, and the acceptance of what it means to live, while also incorporating several elements from theoretical physics (such as matter & antimatter).
Some of my more general hobbies include collecting figures, collecting and building Gunpla model kits, collecting mechanical pencils, playing games, and listening to various genres of music.
